Summary

At AMF, the Technical Writer interfaces with engineers, scientists, and assemblers to understand medical device designs, procedures, test methods, etc.  This understanding, along with information from engineering drawings and other sources, is used to create and edit specifications, test plans and reports, procedures and other paper and electronic documents.  In addition, he/she assists in the use of templates, styles and formatting to streamline the documentation process for others.

Requirements

Excellent computer skills in MS Office products. Must be customer-oriented, and work in teams with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and R+D personnel. Experience using an electronic Document Control system for the review and release of controlled documents. Possesses outstanding written communication skills, and able to provide samples. Interviews subject matter experts of technology, efficiently and effectively. Reads specifications, procedures, reports, and other material to become familiar with product technologies and production methods. Creates, develops, plans, writes, and edits specifications, procedures, reports, etc. Creates documentation according to set templates and formats. Oversees the completion of writing projects from start to finish. Communicates project status clearly, and in a timely manner. Seeks assistance when appropriate.
